Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Knightsbridge Partnership worked with the Metropolitan Police, Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to maintain the resilience of the district during the period of mourning. Information was shared with businesses with details on route closures and arrangements for the funeral procession. The Head of Place for the Knightsbridge Partnership also attended daily briefings with the Metropolitan Police and council representatives.
The sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen saw the largest police operation in history, involving police officers and staff from forces across the UK.
PS Paul Fagg from the National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) said: “I am very proud that the NBCC were able to play such a critical part in supporting businesses during such a large operation. All the businesses impacted by the events in London were supportive and understanding of the disruption caused to them. The feedback we got was overwhelmingly positive with gratitude for the frequency and consistency of the communication and the speed in which questions were answered to enable businesses to adapt and plan.”
