This is to inform you about the planned closure of the Piccadilly Line on the 13th and 14th September which is expected to have a significant impact on travel to and from Knightsbridge.
As one of the primary transport links for both employees and customers, the closure will likely result in increased travel times and congestion in the area.
Impact on Businesses:
- Customer Access: With the Piccadilly Line out of service, many customers who typically use this line to visit Knightsbridge may face difficulties reaching the area. So please advise customers to pre plan their journey and seek alternative routes.
- Employee Commute: Employees who rely on the Piccadilly Line may experience delays in their commute. Businesses should prepare staff to give extra time for travel or plan alternative routes.
- Increased Road Traffic: With the tube closure, a rise in road traffic is expected as commuters turn to buses, taxis, and private vehicles as alternatives. This could result in congestion around key routes in and out of Knightsbridge, particularly during peak hours.
Alternative Travel Advice:
- Other Tube Lines: Encourage employees and customers to use the District and Circle Lines, which remain operational and provide access to Knightsbridge via nearby stations such as South Kensington and Sloane Square. Green Park station is a 15-minute walk with access to the Victoria and Jubilee Lines.
- Bus Services: Reinforce the availability of bus routes that service Knightsbridge, including routes 9, 14, 19, 22, and 74, which provide convenient alternatives to the Piccadilly Line.
- Walking and Cycling: For those close by, walking or cycling could be a viable option.
We recommend informing your staff and customers in advance of these disruptions and encouraging them to plan their journeys accordingly.
