Fit for the Future: The Four Pillars – ENRICH

Knightsbridge is one of only two International Centres in London and one of the world’s most iconic luxury destinations. In an increasingly competitive global landscape, our most critical initiative has been the Knightsbridge Place and Public Realm Strategy — a bold, transformative vision to elevate the public realm, improve accessibility and position Knightsbridge as a global exemplar of sustainable placemaking.

Alongside this once-in-a-generation project, the Enrich pillar covers everything that keeps the district clean, welcoming and high-performing: from nightly cleansing and graffiti removal to the area’s first Christmas lights scheme and its Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan.

Five years of elevating the district

  • £75m Knightsbridge Place and Public Realm Strategy launched to transform the area, enhance its global appeal and safeguard its position as a world-class luxury destination
  • Secured £320K in NCIL funding to support the Harrods and The Knightsbridge Estate Public Realm scheme for Hans Crescent which is now under construction
  • Deep cleaned the district the equivalent length of the London Marathon over four years
  • Worked with The Knightsbridge Estate to bring public art to Hoopers Court for the Kensington and Chelsea Art Week in 2023, and attracted the Kids Go Wild public art trail featuring nine bronze sculptures by artists Gillie and Marc
  • Launched the first Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan for Knightsbridge, including a new air quality monitor installed in partnership with Imperial College London

What our partners and community say

“Knightsbridge Partnership are setting a clear collaborative direction for the future of Knightsbridge, in particular their Place and Public Realm Strategy. It’s really exciting, it exemplifies outstanding placemaking, it’s strategic, it’s inclusive, it’s forward thinking and it rebalances people and nature, improves safety, accessibility, enhances the visitor experience and supports greener, more sustainable movement through the district.” Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth

“Addressing sustainability effectively requires collaboration, shared learning, and access to the right expertise. Knightsbridge Partnership plays an important role in bringing together the knowledge and experience of the district’s key institutions to support this collective approach. Through initiatives such as the Sustainability Forum, the Partnership creates a valuable platform for businesses to learn from experts, share best practice and engage meaningfully with one another.” Kostas Sfaltos, Managing Director, The Berkeley and The Emory Hotels

“The Knightsbridge Partnership has consistently demonstrated the importance of co-design, bringing residents, businesses, and property owners together to shape positive change. This inclusive approach has been particularly effective in addressing complex local issues and strengthening community cohesion. Through regular communication, community meetings, and collaborative lobbying on matters such as South Carriage Drive, the Partnership ensures that local voices are aligned and amplified, helping to deliver lasting improvements for the whole neighbourhood.” Melville Haggard, Knightsbridge Association

What we deliver today

  • Co-creation of the £75m Place and Public Realm Strategy, delivering a transformed Brompton Road and Knightsbridge with enhanced traffic movement, widened and de-cluttered pavements, improved biodiversity and priority pedestrian crossings
  • Nightly cleaning programmes, quarterly deep cleaning of the entire district and free graffiti removal
  • Rapid-response cleansing with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council, plus discounted waste services that cut clutter, traffic and emissions
  • Funding of the first Christmas Lights scheme for Knightsbridge
  • The Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan, supporting both Councils’ goal of carbon neutrality by 2040, expanded greening, low-carbon last-mile logistics, improved air quality and a circular Knightsbridge
  • Funding initiatives to support the district during Piccadilly Line closures

What a YES vote unlocks for 2026–2031

  • Gateway projects creating a prominent arrival moment for Knightsbridge at Hyde Park Corner and where the Brompton Road meets South Kensington, showcasing artistic and interactive installations
  • Improved wayfinding across the district — signage, materials, lighting and digital initiatives — driving footfall, dwell time and return visits
  • A new Street Manager by the end of 2026, delivering daily patrols, faster response for businesses experiencing criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, and proactive resolution of waste and streetscape issues
  • A new Christmas lights display for 2026 — a signature, story-driven scheme unique to Knightsbridge, using state-of-the-art technology and reusable materials
  • Quarterly Sustainability Forums, free energy audits, retrofit pathways, carbon literacy training and an employee wellbeing programme

What a NO vote would mean

If the Knightsbridge Partnership is not successful in the ballot, all current activities and services will cease from October 2026. There is no other organisation to deliver them on your behalf. That means:

  • No area management. The district will only receive the baseline services delivered by Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea — a significant and noticeable decline in standards.
  • No Knightsbridge Place and Public Realm Strategy. The strategy will stop, and £75m of investment will not be delivered into the district.
  • No Christmas lights. The only Christmas lights scheme in the district’s history will cease, with no new scheme in 2026 — impacting footfall during a crucial trading period.

Ballot papers will be issued on August 27, 2026. Completed postal votes must be returned by 5pm on September 24, 2026.

This vital support will only continue if businesses vote YES to the Knightsbridge Partnership continuing for the next five years.
